I have an old terrace house and ten years ago I had central heating fitted for the first time in the property , the pipes are flush to wall not behind plaster , I have noticed recently that in the morning when the system starts up I can hear clicking in the ceiling above me , this is possibly initial condensation but may be the pipes moving slightly on the joists, I originally thought that the pipes were dripping. However after about 1hr the noise stops , surely if this was dripping it would have come through the ceiling by now and the noise would continue , any thoughts?

Just the odd creak due to normal expansion, more than likely mate. Most systems do it to some degree.
John :)
