Where do i attach the car pump to. to re-pressurize the expansion vessel on a potterton 80?

There's usually a plastic cap of some shape screwed over the valve.

on the actual orange tank or else where on the system?

On the orange tank.

Usually at tthe top. Do let the pressure off the heating system first!

New plumber arrived cleaned PRV and systems, repressurized the expansion vessel with big pump, jobs a good'un.
