potterton boiler

Its a Potty Diplomat. That valve is obsolete. You'll have to put in a Honeywell v4600c and alter the pipework and pilot tube. Fairly simple to be honest - as long as your an RGI.

cheers. - how much alteration of the pipe work is needed for the new gas valve to fit? it looks like steel pipe, do you mean cutting the pipe work and re-threading it?

Your obvoiusly not an RGI. Get a pro in. Forum rules prevent me from giving gas advise to DIY'ers.

yes i am, i just havent come across this type of valve. stop being a jobs worth! otherwise the simple answer is - i'll fit a new boiler, costing the customer more than whats really needed.

i completly agree with not giving out advice to gas diyers! i use this site for a bit of advice now and then - and come across people like you!
