Had the usual blown pcb on one of these today, but when taking the pcb out, the top left lead (the power one) had a pin stuck init from the old pcb. When I removed it (which was difficult enough) it seems to have removed a metal strip from inside the connector block

Can this block be fixed or a replacement brought? What are my options?

Thanks as usual guys

A total bodge is to use a chocolate block single connector for just that pin.

Another bodge is to connect that wire to another one connecting to the same ( neutral I think ) line on the PCB.

Another bodge is to heat up the connector plug and ease the female connector back in using some additional plastic if need be ( from that choc block for example ).

Would that part of the connector block missing stop the pcb from functioning?

Also, what do you mean by using a chocolate block single connector for just that pin?

if yer dunno what you are doing fella

put a new board in

I have put a new board in, but the connector block (PL1) that plugs onto the top left of the pcb is slightly scorched and has the inner metal strip missing. Hence my question!!! :D

Ok so.......

Also, what do you mean by using a chocolate block single connector for just that pin?

and.......

Would that pin (furthest to the left of P1) not touching the board stop the board from functioning?

Thanks

If you've damaged the connector then it needs replacing. I dont think you can get away with using a single choc block. That IS bodging!

Ring around and get a spare one if its not listed then try the smaller places
they should stock them. I get mine from the old ones the installers remove.
I done one today funnily enough and yes you do need it unless its a black or purple wire and you have an integral timer. I think thats what these are for.
