Potterton Combi 80

Excellent thanks a lot guys!!!

May sound stupid but Ive never had to anything like this before, so how would I go about replacing the harness? Is it fairly straight forward?

Thanks again

Yes you just have to feed it through and swap the wires one for one on the terminal block.
You might need some spare wire tires as the wires shouldnt touch the resistors on the board. Although this is explained on the new PCB instructions.

Also just noticed this on gaspartsarena site

The part numbers for the puma 80 and combi 80 pcbs are the same? I thought the combi 80 pcb would be the same as the puma 80E pcb, as they are both electronic pilot?

But the full sequence control boards have the same part number?

Is that correct?

Combi 80 - Modulation Board - 289550
Puma 80 - Modulation Board - 289550
Puma 80E - Modulation Board - 289551

Combi 80 - FSCB - 289555
Puma 80E - FSCB - 289555

Had the usual blown pcb on one of these today, but when taking the pcb out, the top left lead (the power one) had a pin stuck init from the old pcb. When I removed it (which was difficult enough) it seems to have removed a metal strip from inside the connector block

Can this block be fixed or a replacement brought? What are my options?

Thanks as usual guys

The loom comnnecter CAN be repaced (a .15" 8 way molex IIRC), but you would prolly have to buy 5 and be subject to a minimum order delivery surcharge

You would also need another connectir pin (which are normally sold in 1000's)

I have some

I knew that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In fact I said it but I think it fell by the wayside because of those who dont like the idea of using repaired PCBs.

Happy New Year, you must have been away?

I wish I had but have had a bit of a cold over the holiday.

Tony

You got the board wrong, newcomers. The puma E main board (Modulation) is the same as the Combi 80 one

POTT 8929686 CONTROL PCB MODULATION
21/18601 PUMA 80E,100E 289551

The P version doesn't have a FSC board.

But the partsarena site says the puma 80 PP pcb is the same as the Combi 80 pcb?

So what board goes on a combi 80.....the puma 80E or puma 80pp? The fella in hrpc also said the puma 80pp, is he wrong?
