Potterton Combi flame failure problem

Hi. First time on here, so can anyone help.
The problem i have is that the boiler will fire up and work fine, both rads and water, but after a time, around 20-30 minutes the flame failure light will come on and the boiler will not relight again. When the boiler is cold i can switch it on and off many times and it will always relight.
Any ideas please!! anyone? Would be much appreciated. Thanks.

PS. I do not have an external thermostat on this boiler only the water and heating control knobs on the boiler, just wondered if this could be an issue?

I have had a gas safe boiler fitter out and he does not seam to have a clue, he just keeps saying that it is working fine, cleans a few bits and then leaves, only for the same problem to happen again 30 mins later.

That does not surprise me! All a fitter is doing is to screw a boiler to the wall and connect the pipework.

You need a boiler engineer who specialises in diagnosing and repairing boiler faults.

Mentioning the boiler model would help. But there can be so many different causes of locking out that guesswork is just that.
