Potterton EP2000 Wiring

I have a Potterton EP2000 programmer for my central heating. I plan to upgrade to Drayton Tempus 7. When I removed the faceplate of the EP2000, I found that there was no wire connected to terminal 2 (CH off) which is contrary to every wiring scheme I've seen. Yet everything is working fine.
Should I be concerned :? , or should I just wire in the Drayton and not worry about any connection to terminal 2 :?:
