Get second opinion. ..

Thanks for the advice. I've done that and it looks as though my flue connection may be fixable ...phew..

Hi, I appear to have the same problem with a Potterton Kingfisher flue being condemed by BG. Were you able to get your flue fixed?

Start a new thread with more detail, e.g. exact model and G.C. number of appliance etc.

So what boiler do you actually have??
I have an Ideal Classic FF-2 boiler, with a Megaflo tank and Lifestyle LP522 timer. My problem is I can only get hot water when the central heating is on.

If I turn off the C/H on the timer on set the H/W to on, the boiler does not fire up. I have to set the C/H to on and the H/W to on, to get H/W. When C/H and H/W are set to 'on' on the timer, I have tried turning off all the room thermostats to trick the system. In this case the H/W does not get hot as the boiler does not fire up. As soon as I turn up a thermostat the boiler fires up and gives me C/H and H/W.

Any ideas or help would be aprreciated.
