Hi Guys,

Doing a bit of DIY this evening and bled one of the radiators in the house... as a result the pressure has dropped in the system - or so I think?

I went to try and re-fill and turned the knob on the left hand side marked wiht a dot, star and a flame... turns out this is used when starting up the boiler/pilot.

The boiler does not fire anymore... now I am not sure if this is because of the pressure drop, or because I turned the knob, or both. I have seen instructions on how to restart the boiler which I will try in a min, but my original question stands, how do I top up the boiler and where can I check the pressure?

Thanks,

It SHOULD be filled automatically via the small cistern (f&e tank) usually located in the loft!.

And as for the turning the gas valve to fill the system

If you have problems re-lighting then come back. this will be the reason it isnt working!

You have a low pressure system which should fill itself from the loft tank, no pressure gauge. You need to relight the pilot flame as you must have turned it off when you turned the knob.

Wow, 3 replies so quick, thanks guys.

I got the pilot lighted again heating started, but this morning it was off again. I managed to start it again and have left it on all day. I will give it the duration of the day to re-pressurise and I will try do some more bleeding tonight.

Thanks for the replies. This forum is book marked for future use!! You have been great, cheers.
