i have manged to short the programmer ep2001 from the thermostat..it tripped the mains but damage already done....i tried neighbours timers and this works and sends demand to boiler but only fan operating i have checked fuse next to pcp in boiler and all seems fine.....i know i will have to change timer(will ep2002 fit?) has anybody got any ideas what a short might have done to boiler?
any ideas while i am waiting for plumber to get back to me.
thanks in advance

which hopefully tells me the boiler is ok and maybe i have just fried the central heating part of programmer?
the wife said there was a flash in kitchen by programmer when i shorted it out!
it all started when boiler was serviced and wife was told we may need a new room stat.
i could not get a potterton prt100 and was sold a honeywell t6360 which wires slightly different(worked when controller/timer was off?)
so this is when i experimented and managed to send voltage wrong way to programmer
i seen a whole set ep2002 roomstat /controller/tank stat....would this be ok for a direct replacement?...should it fit backplate?
You can't damage your boiler by furglin at the programmer unless the mains goes via your boiler.
This is typical of how they're wired in principle, as you see it's all separate:
