Potterton Profile 60E lock outs

This is my first post so hope its ok.
I have the above boiler and it locks out, here are the details.

With the boiler control set at 3 there is no problem but if I increase it to 3.5 it locks out INTERMITTENTLY.

The boiler runs as normal and when the room stat shuts it down the pump stops immediately and then a short time later the boiler locks out. The pump normally continues running for a few minutes but in this case it shuts off immediately.

I was told by a guy on another site that it was the Pump overrun Stat
so a mate agreed and we fitted a new one but the problem persists.

I see this boiler has a PCB and was wondering if there is a dry joint or poor connection somewhere.

Can anyone help?

bleed your radiators then post back you may have air in your system and boiler is protecting it self

Hi

The radiators have been bled and there does not appear to be any air in the system. The header tank has also been checked and the water level is ok.

right fire it up and check which pipe gets hot first and then the other pipe 22mm and see if it gets hot

There are 2 22mm pipes from the top of the boiler, I just checked it but the boiler had been running recently.
As the boiler fired up, both of the pipes were quite warm, then one of them started cooling and the other one started heating up.
Is that what you wanted me to try?

Does the system have a by-pass?

i wanted to know if water is getting all way round if both pipes get hot it does and check if got by pass was coming up

I am not a plumber but as far as I remember I was told that the towell rail in the bathroom was the bypass.
Would that be correct?

If you are sitting on the bog and the boiler shuts down due to the room stat you hear a diverter valve move and then water rushing through the towell rail.
