Hello,

I have an issue with my Potterton Promax 33 Boiler Issue today, it is making a banging noise around 30 secs after opening the hot water water or turning on the central heating.

Firstly, I thought it is the plate heat exchanger but I thought that would only cause banging noises upon DHW not Central Heating. Could it be the plate heat exchanger even though the banging noise is coming for both?

Secondly, there is an error code coming e110 which I read in the manual means that boiler overheated and tripped. I tested the resistance of this and it was 0.40 ohms, which I would imagine should be ok?

Would greatly appreciate any advice / investigation techniques to identify the root-cause.

Many thanks

Hello cross thread,

Is there a way to test that? Also can the main heat exchanger be ruled out?
