Potterton pipe banging

I have a Potterton Superima boiler which makes loud banging noises in the pipe. The noise would continue for around a minute when the central heating is switched on and then stop. After a while the noise would start again.
Does any1 know what is causing the noise?

Could be that no bypass has been fitted to the system, my advise is call a qualified person to check this out
