Hi
My potterton puma 80 combi boiler stoped working (no power light). So I changed the internal fuse and switched it on. When I switched the plug on I saw a small spark on the top left side of the circuit board and the power light came on for a second and died again.
I got no hot water or CH now. I'm thinking of ordering a new PCB for £130. Am I right in thinking the fault is in the PCB?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Regards
Rush

soldering on these is not renowned for its quaility

I did, back of the board was slightly burned so i wiped it with a dry towel and put everything back on. When i switched the power on it sprked again and died.

Re-solder the board or get someone who can. Its on the back of the pin -top left of the board as you look at it. Simple job if you know what your doing. Its an extremely common fault and you will find many topics on here on how to carry out a successful repair.

If its damaged too much you may need a new one.

Paul.

Changed hundreds of these always burns top left corner, i've seen a whole board melted must have caught fire.
