We have had a new Potterton Sealed System boiler fitted. Firstly the plumber and builder have disagreed about which timer to fit and we now have a single channel timer with remote stat that heats water at the same time the CH comes on. The timer on the remote stat is NOT triggering the CH. So as the customer we dont know what to do or what to ask for. Secondly, every time the hot water tap is turned on any where in the house a loud groaning sound is heard from the tank. This is weeks old and has not been installed (we believe) correctly. What can we do?

Thanks

I'm guessing you've got an unvented cylinder, and the groaning is the expansion vessel depleting. Get your plumber back to set the correct pressures on the vessel.

Presumably the plumber is working for the builder who you are paying and the builder does not want to cover the cost of proper controls?

You should be able to seperately time the hot water and the heating.

You should have a room stat and TRVs on most of the radiators!
