Hi, My flow switch is leaking fairly badly, are they easy to change or can i loosen it and add ptfe tape to seal joing again ?? water coming out of plastic screw cap onto copper/brass fitting ??
any advice greatly accepted

you can try but i doubt if it will seal it.i had the same problem on my sons powermax today and i bought a new one, at £112 city plumbing. i hope yours is cheaper.
i assume you will drain down the boiler to fit it, clean up the face the flowswitch mates on and a little silicon grease on the face helps. finger tighten only.
annoying isn,t it , the switch works but you have to replace it cos of a plastic cap
 
As above but it won't be cheaper!! you do not have to drain the boiler, just turn off the cold main to the boiler and open a hot tap to release the trapped pressure the hardest part is lacing the cable back to the control panel!! ;)

thanks guys, it is bloody annoying when its just the plastic cap !! i have ordered new switch (£85inc) and hope to fit tomorrow ??!! the wiring doesnt look too bad a route si fingers crossed and i will let you know results,
