Potterton Suprima 30 update

I thought I'd start a new thread as the old problem was solved (air-lock).

So I'm back to the original problem - boiler tripping out.

BGas came around and said something new this time. The pipes off the Suprima 30 are 22m and that doesn't conform to their standards, so they won't touch it.

My options are to change the pipes to the cylinder for 35 mm or install a combi.

Anyway, in the meantime, he turned the pump down to 1 and the boiler up to max and to be honest, its working perfectly now! :D

The sytem is:
Potterton Suptrima 30 in a 2 bed flat
4 rads (3 with TRVs)
cylinder connected via tapstat valve
pump on the return
boiler to cylinder is around 6 metres (its 22m all the way)
rads have smaller piping however, but all got really hot after he set the pump to 1 and boiler to max.

So should I start budgeting for a pipe upgrade or just leave it?

Thanks.

That's what I thought. I'm sure he was looking at a Suprima 100 or something..

Hi,
I am in Ealing in west London. Why do you ask.. Something to do with hard water or pressure?
