Hi people, can someone please suggest what may be causing my Promax 15he boiler to trip out requiring a reset?,
It was serviced by a local guy 6 ago and had the burner replaced and worked fine until a month or so ago but now has 2 issues non ignition which I found was due to carbon build up on the spark electrode, now cured by cleaning and adjusting electrode gap.
2nd fault is after a prolonged time the boiler fails and the reset indicator comes on,as I'm an electrician I have checked all the stats, low flow ,high temp, fan stat and the thermistors associated with those parts, but I just cannot pin point which stat seems to be the problem, the boiler runs fine but overnight after working fine for most of the day needs resetting 1st thing in the morning.
All symptoms according to the fault finding guide points to the main PCB,but I don't want to buy a replacement unnessarily and then go through paying for recomisioning the boiler unless I have to.
The fault lights are reset flashing red and high fire light green until reset and then can work happily for hours.
I cannot get the guy back who serviced it for as her works for a national co and sods law is too overworked to have a look (I only trust him not to rip me off,
not to say there aren't very many honest gas fitters out there).
Much obliged if help advise can be forth comming☺️

You need to know how a boiler works to fault find boilers. Looks like you have to gamble on finding a gas engineer ;) after all you don't trust us. FFS you go on a public forum when you don't trust engineers you phone
