power calibration error

hi, i keep getting a power calibration error when i try to burn with nero. Using Memorex dvds any ideas on why this should happen?

your burner is more than likely on it's way out. you could try and update the firmware on it and see if that will extend its life, i did with mine once but i only delayed the inevitible. desktop or laptop? does it burn CDs ok?

Do you get the same result using a different media?
Have you tried burning at a lower speed?
Is the lens clean?
