Power flush or sludge?

So guys do you reckon my money will be well spent, with plenty of flow for a decent shower?!!
22lpm is more than plenty anyway (I get about 14 from a combi system (in my 3 bed semi) and I have to turn it down). How big is your house anyway, and how many people live in it (and how many bathrooms etc)?

richie you'll be fine me old pal - stop worrying.

even 2 showers at same time would be pretty good. 26lpm would equal 13 at each shower in even my simple maths i know theres more to it but more than adequate for a shower pal.

Frankly, a powerflush is the best way to clean out the bigger bits of rust that the vast majority of standard clean and drains will not do.

One thing - BS 7593:2006 is the code of practice for treatment of water in domestic hot water heating systems.

What your plumber is proposing is covered in section 5.5 Gravity cleansing (with the assistance of a circulatory pump)

5.5.3 (e) Repeat the draining, refilling, circulating steps a minimum of two further times.

(f) Repeat as necessary until the water runs clear at all drain points.

If your plumber does not add the chemical in twice (prob for a week each depending upon the make of chemical) then he will not be following the BS.

Powerflush is best.

Hope this helps.

anybody heard of or use those Magnaclean's?

I never even heard or saw 1 until recently, but read up on them and they seemed like quite a good idea for cleaning up existing systems to a degree.. and maintaining a clean/new system.

Will probably try 1 out and fit 1 at home I think.
