Hi,

I have 32A cooker ring with FCU (and spare unused socket) above worktop, going to junction box below worktop for the electric oven and hob.

For powering the cooker hood the instructions require a 3A FCU. Can I take power from the cooker junction box and have the 3A FCU below the worktop as it can be isolated via the cooker FCU switch? Or is there a requirement for the 3A FCU to be accessible as well? And/or do I need to be coming from the standard sockets ring?

Thanks,
Simon

Take the power for the extractor from another supply, not cooker. You can use the lighting circuit or a socket circuit, follow the manufacturers instruction regarding the fuse rating for ex-fan. And also comply to part p of the building regs, when installing and commissioning.
