Afternoon all,

I'm going to have a cooker hood installed & wanted to know the correct procedure.

On either side of the cooker above the worktop there are:

1) On the left - a double socket & fcu for the fridge.

2) On the right - a double socket & fcu for the cooker.

Is it possible to lose the double socket on the right & replace with a 3A fcu for the new cooker hood & either put a single socket in or just a blank?

Also, as it's too short, what would be the correct wire to extend the wire from the cooker hood & what would be the best way to connect it?

Many thanks

Need to know a little more about the distances and the route cable will take,
Depending on how the circuit is configured and the type of circuit it is ring or radial, there could be a number of options without loosing any socket outlets.
You will need to read up on permitted safe routes of cables and the requirements for RCD protection and the legal requirement that what is done is proved to be safe.
