Hi,

I know it's often been done but is it 'acceptable practice' to take a power source from a light switch by strapping the power across the switch?
i.e. single gang light switch in hall, introduce a new cable from an outside lamp, change single gang switch to 2 gang switch and strap the power across.

Your views would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Tony

yesm but often there is no neutral at a switch so you would need to get a neutral from somewhere..

Of course makes perfect sense  thanks for all your replies guys much appreciated :)
