power shower nightmare!!

please help my hubby.....fitted a powerforce power shower yesterday....all ok..well kinda...but the water from the hot water tank in the bathroom is travelling up into the cold water tank into the loft....causing the overflow to pour out loadsa hot water onto the garage roof.......he just cannot work it out.....he asked a plumber who said that plunbing is basically a mystery mate!......yeah helpful.....he has replaced loadsa bits in the hot water cylinder but to no avail....

please help him.....

ps i need to tell you the pump is integral to the shower

disconnect the cold feed from the mains and feed it from the tank

it was connected to the mains cold water....if he changes it.....problems solved yes?? i hope so

make sure it it lower than the cylinder feed

the cold wants to be lower
if the tank runs out would you sooner be shivering or scalded

I should imagine the shower is nackered now anyway, after being connected to mains pressure.
