Years ago SWMBO and I used to distribute an American brand of dog/cat supplements in the EU. The CEO once told me that got so fed up with the mega pet store firms jerking him around and demanding to give them massive discounts for premium end of isle positions that it was cheaper to buy the competing brands so that he could have more leverage with the stores.
