I have just been asked to powerflush an old 10 rad system on a church...Big old column rads, inch & a half threaded pipe work etc.

Radiator valves & pump valves seem reasonable and there is a water main.

Anyone had any grief with anything similar?

Thanks

Mark

If it is an old one pipe system with top bottom connections, you can forget powerflushing. It may do some good, but will not get the system clean.

Thanks for the reply bengasman...I should have mentioned that it is a two pipe system.

Bottom/bottom connections?
If it's not a rush job, I'd preclean it with F3 for a few weeks when the heating is running.

Yes. BBOE connections...it's a bit of a rush job as it's been dropped on us at short notice.

In that case, warn them that this is not at as easy as a modern system, and buy loads of FX2 and ds40.
And make sure you do a superb cya about leaks.
