I have a powermax 158 boiler which heats water very hot but only a limited supply - not enough to run a bath.

I have been advised, as i live in a hard water area, that this is likely to be due to limescale - is this likely?

If so, and i have this boiler de-scaled, how much is it likely to cost me?

In other words, water will only run hot at low-flow?
or water flows out hot but only trickles all the time?

The former: possibly scaling problem.
The latter: definitely scaled-up coil inside the boiler.

Have you been topping up the Siliphos gadget on the cold water feed to the boiler - there should be one! and it needs filling at least every year.

Descaling is awkward and time consuming. Where are you geographically?
