Hi,

Hope you can help with my problem.

I have recently replaced the circuit board because the spark generator failed. So after that was fixed i have another problem. The hot water is just trickling through. I cannot run more than one tap on hot because nothing comes out. Yet the central heating is perfect (really hot radiators).

Does anyone have any ideas why i'm not getting a burst of hot water like i used to a year ago.?????

Regards
TIM

if it has slowly got worse, i believe there is a flow restrictor, this is a plastic disk with an o ring in it, this can swell causing poor water flow....if i remember right, its in with the mini expansion vessel.

i may be wrong as its been A LONG time since ive seen one of these....

you have 2 soloutions, 1 is to replace it (prefered option) 2 is to push it through with a screw driver, and control the flow using the isolation valve....

The flow restrictor can sometimes fail over a very short time even just two or three days.

I wish I knew what causes them to fail, the rubber goes squidgy and swells up and blocks the flow.

I have known one which failed within 12 months of the boiler being installed. 3000 similar other boilers gave no problem after three years.

Hi,

Thanks for the info regarding the flow restrictor but where is it on the boiler. Can i fix myself (not a plumber by any means).

Thanks again.
