Hi All,

Finally have every thing installed and ready to go...

So just want some advise on setting up the panel

A little background info...

Alarm is installed in a bungalow.

I have installed 3 x Bosch Blue line tri-tech pet friendly PIR and 3 x door contacts.
At night I wanted to part set the alarm using just the door contacts (part 1 Omit) is this ok to do?

I have started to set up the zones in Wintex, and have added some pics showing the attributes that I was going to use, But wasn't sure if I should use "guard" so advise would be appreciated...
Also on Zone 1, which is set to entry exit, do I need to set any other attributes?

Thanks

Gary

Part 1 omit to all sensors that need to be off when part armed.

Guard for all detectors that will trigger alarm instantly when set (Living Room, Dining Room PIRs Etc...)

Guard Access for a Hall PIR and any other detectors that get triggered on route to & from keypad.

Entry exit 1 for your final exit door (Front door) You could add chime attribute so that you get a bleep each time door opens. Can be turned on/off by pressing the Chime button once programmed.

Thanks for that... so am I right that on zone 2 which is lounge pir, that I need to check box Guard and Access or should this just be access?

Thanks

Gary

If the Lounge PIR picks you up on the entry exit route then it needs to be Guard Access as the zone type, the attibutes will configure automatically.

Hi Engineer...

Yes it can pick us up from EE, so will set up as you suggest.
Any tips for global settings?
I have seen in other posts that people have suggested turning off battery monitoring, to avoid alarms if it detects low battery???
Turn off grade 3 etc...

Thanks again
Gary

...... so how are you going to know that the battery has a fault before its regular 4/5year change?
Good or bad if you are able to test it correctly, and I don't mean what voltage is being delivered.

I know, leave the battery monitor alone, it's there for a reason.

On systems maintained by alarm companies the change would be done automatically during the correct time scale 4/5 years

Do not take the first piece of advise you are given, you would be surprised how many have their own ideas.

The situation you/they have mentioned is a sure false activation waiting to happen 2 days after you arrive in Spain for your 1st holiday in 10 years, then what are you going to do?

By the way,

A healthy battery.

Voltage is NO indication that there is any capacity available, in the same way
that fumes smelt in your car fuel tank is NO indication that petrol exists!

Hi Europlex,
I am going to have to maintain the system myself, I live in Australia now, and no one sells Texecom gear out here...
The photos above are what was installed when I bought the house (7years old) 4 years ago.
Ness alarm, and that is a pic of what nearly all of the bell boxes look like...
The only systems that I could find here when I started looking were Ness, Hills, Bosch wireless or ADT.
which is the main reason I have done the install
Can get the 7ah battery out here, but will struggle to get a replacement odyssey 3 battery pack.

Yep will keep battery monitor running... had planned on 3 year replacement for panel.

Thanks again guys.

Gary
