Hi
I need to make three 1x2m panels, painted pink, with 8 very light wood strips for shelves which will present greetings cards at an exhibition. The boards will hang on chains from the top of the exhibition stand wall.
Having been to the DIY shop, 9mm plywood looks like the best option to avoid warping but being lighter than MDF.
Any thoughts on this choice?
YouTube research has thrown up two choices for preparation. One is to seal with several coats of PVA before painting. The second is to use a primer such as Zinsser BIN.
My biggest concern is the boards warping and looking unprofessional at the exhibition, so I am really interested to get experience from the forum on how to prep for a good finish and protect from normal amounts of moisture you'd get in a spare room or your house e.g. not outside or garage or utility room
Thanks in advance!
