I am planning to get a plasterer in next week to skim a few rooms for me. Each of the rooms has had the ceilings overboarded with 2 walls new plasterboard and 2 wall original render painted.

What do i need to do in prep to allow the plasterer to start beadings and spreading when he turns up? Is it PVA to the new plasterboard and "Blue Grit" to the existing or Bluegrit everwhere?

dont touch the plasterboard.
dont do anything - any pro plasterer has a skilled labourer, and when they turn up they'll immediately set to all and any prep needed.
they prefer to do their own basic prep rather than re-do yours.
Pva for instance must be tacky for skimming.

perhaps show:
where waters on hand
where to mix
where to wash
and where to dump wet residues

Ok but what should I get for them to prep. Pva or bluegrit? I have to provide all the materials

Does the blue grit not need 24hrs to set or can they skim over as it dries
