Hi Expert DIY,

Looking for some advice as looking to paint the ceiling before to redo the lounge / open plan kitchen.

Had thought that I would not had to do it, but as it is open plan and will be doing the wall, it might be worth to spend a bit of extra time to refresh it all.

Hight ceiling with a cornice where there is some small cracks between the ceiling / cornice as per picture and inside the cornice.

I was aiming for a bit of sanding inside the cornice to clear the cracks and use either some filler or caulk?

Caulk:

or should i use some filler like the one below:

Should I use one rather than the other one and why?

Many thanks,
