Preparation for turf

Hi I have removed an area of pebbles and an area with lots of plants in and I want to lay turf. I am planning on getting some top soil for the area that used to be pebbles but am unsure what to do with the area which has plants on. I have been removing as much as I can and there are lots(and lots) of bulbs under the soil and I also think there is a type of grass weed in the bed.

Any ideas of how I should clear this area would be great I really want to finish it but not sure how?
