Right... I am preparing the floors in my extention for the final coverings. Iv gone around the borders with Hilti foam (massive difference in sound and drafts) but now am wondering how to prepare the act surface area for the following coverings.

1) Underlay and Carpet (does this need any kind of vap barrier?)
2) Bamboo "wood" plank flooring (type of underlay?)
3) Ceramic tiles (marine ply? thickness?)

You don’t need to use marine ply as a tile base, WBP uses the same waterproof adhesive for the ply laminates but doesn’t have expensive decorative outer veneers. Ply over boarding in a bathroom can in most cases be min 12mm but in a heavy use ground floor area, I would suggest you use 15mm which is that recomended by BS & most adhesive manufacturers. TBO, you’d have done far better to have laid 25mm WBP ply straight onto the joists in the tiled areas, you could then have tiled straight onto that with a decent trade flexible adhesive & grout & kept the threshold levels reasonable.

Chipboard is crap for floors IMO; you’ll get away with it for carpet or solid wood/laminate flooring but the underlay for the wood floor should include a vapour barrier; one wouldn’t go amiss under the carpet underlay either but not essential assuming the crapboard has a vapour barrier on the underside.

no Vap barrier is in place, what sort of stuff should i be looking for re the wooden floor?

Lay it directly over the TG boards then underlay as normal?

Thanks for the advice
