Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

About a week ago my combi boiler (Erocal Senetor) shut down due to a lack of pressure. On checking the Pressure safety valve I could see that water had been blowing out. I read several post from the group and other sites that said that the problem may actually be in the expansion vessel, so I checked that by pushing in the schader valve to see if water or air came out.
Water streamed out, which I thought had confirmed the vessel to be US. However the following day I did the same again and air with just a small spray of water came out of the valve untill the pressure dropped down to zero. Using a foot pump, with the sytem open I pumped up the ex vessel to just under 1 bar and topped up the system via the loop to 1.5 bar. Bugger, the schader valve was leaking on the ex vessel so I tightened the black cap up as much as possible.
My question is:_
Is it normal for the Ex vessel to push water then air out from the sheider valve if the vessel is US.
Can a leaking schader valve be fixed or will I have to get a new ex vessel to be on the safe side anyways?
Many thanks
GD

The expansion vessel is duff, unless you can get it out without removing the boiler, it's better to fit a remote vessel in the return pipe.
