Hi can any one help I have just fitted a water softener. So I have fitted a one way valve and a pressure reducing valve just before the softener but now I get a grumbling in the pipes as the water is drawn through the softener. If I open up the bypass valve and blank off the softener all is quite. I have the feeling the problem is the prv any suggestions

The grumbling could be your check valve as this is spring loaded and requires a certain pressure to open fully. In what sequence have you installed the pressure regulating valve and check valve?
