I'm looking at possibly getting a pressure washer and I see you can get a "one way lance" or a "vario lance" but I've seen no explanation how they both work/differ ?
A vario lance is one which varies the spray pattern, from a fan to a pencil jet. Some also have a fitting which gives a hammer pulse effect - quite good for concrete cleaning! You turn the end of the lance to get the required jet.
Others have a choice of four nozzles, with a quick release fitting on the end of the lance.
Are you going for a petrol or electric washer?

Literally thousands to choose from then, a couple of the better ones being Nilfisk and Karcher. Even then, Karcher have dozens of models, from the ones that come out of an Xmas cracker to some quite acceptable stuff.
Most will have a water cooled motor and an automatic shut off.
