Prima LPR 600 drain pump runs until fault

I have a Prima LPR 600 dishwasher. on any programme and even with the start light out, the drain pump runs. After a few minutes it will stop and then beep, open the door and the start light is flashing four times then pause.
on a previous post this was the drain fault. so I emptied the machine and siphoned all the water out. totally empty, still the same thing.
is there a faulty water 'present' sensor I can attack?
any ideas?
