I dont print very often, and have abandoned the idea of using an inkjet printer - the ink has always dried up by the time I get to use it again.

I have a theory that because laser printers dont use ink, but a dry powder, that they wont dry up between uses. So if I were to spend £50 on a cheap laser, it'd work out better. I only need to print black.

http://www.ebuyer.com/product/176590 for example.

The printer is cheaper than some inkjets and the toners are actually cheaper than a full set of some inks! So I reckon I'd be making a wise investment (though I appreciate that £50 for a laser is very cheap and I shouldnt expect much in terms of quality or reliability)

Any comments?

I used to have an HP laser printer. Great for letters etc and fast. If your only ever going to use B&W then go for it.

There are plenty of places where you can get toner cartridges refilled.
