The room has a bay window which is likely root cause of problem. So room stinking hot 27°C so in/out thermometer as soon as outside cooler than inside, opened window and placed fan on window sill blowing in cool air, it was 1 am DST in morning before went to bed and closed windows temperature dropped to 22°C got up 4 am fan on again, just for an hour room down to 18°C curtains closeted heavy white to window, got up at 10 am room already at 26°C. On window sill recorded 36°C it is really a sun trap.

This room is also a problem in the Winter, the sun if out warms it so fast that only with eTRV fitted would the radiator shut off quick enough to stop room over heating, I will not be in house long, likely one year, but would still like to do some thing to keep room cooler.

Bedrooms and kitchen with windows on same side do not have same problem, just the living room with bay windows sticking out around 3 foot square corners.

I have considered outside blinds, or shutters, and air conditioning however maybe there is some better way, seem to remember some film being put on windows at work to stop over heating of a batches plant cabin, but no idea what it was called and how much it costs.

Any ideas please.
