May I join in the discussion. I have the same sort of problem with a Kanlux JQ27 which I am trying to connect to a light in a walk in wardrobe.I only have one set of wires from the ceiling, which currently ( sorry) connect to a pull switch:red, black and earth. Same problem though ,what do you connect to the red wire in the unit? Grateful for any assistance.

Do not know what the other discussion was. But Red wire to live in, black wire to neutral. Then a separate cable to the light (probably blue and brown now) blue to neutral on the Kanlux and brown on the live out on the kanlux. Don't forget to connect the earth cable through from supply to the light.

Thanks for the replies.I should have said it was a Kanlux JQ37 not 27,sorry.
In response to the questions :

Yes, I want to replace a pull switch with the PIR unit.

It has three terminals red, blue and brown beneath them is a schematic digram saying line in to brown and blue and a third line saying line out from the red linking to the line to blue via a circle with a cross in it.

That's the wiring diagram.

A circle with a cross in it is the standard symbol for a light.

You should spend a bit of time boning up:

Further thanks to all respondents.I now know exactly where I am with this and will act accordingly.Subject closed, so farewell and good luck to all.
