Problem with Electric Shower!

My wife has just tried our Mira Escape 9.8kw Electric Shower Satin Chrome (B&Q) and has pulled the cord which clicks so assume it works but when you press the button on the unit itself no water comes out not even the light to say it is working comes on or even that there might be low pressure, any ideas what's up or, if possible, how to fix it?

check the connection in the pullcord they are either loose or the pullcord broken.
