Woke up this morning to find no hot water.

Not the boiler this time (thank god) as Central heating working fine.

Turns out the timer didn't automatically come on (no light) but pressing boost got the light back up. Strangely the central heating (light too) came on automatically as usual.

My initial thoughts are electrical fault with timer, what do you guys think?

It does sound like the programmer is not functioning correctly. Have you checked the on/off times for hot water. Is it possible some-one else in the house has accidentally messed up the settings?

Otherwise there is not a lot you can do if they go wrong, I would check to see if it has a reset facility and would try that to set it up again if there are no obvious problems with the on/off times.
