Hello

I have a problem with my boiler. Its is a combi boiler which I have had for nearly 6 years. Recently it has decided to loose pressure and drops so low that it won’t fire up. Also recently when I attempt to use the hot water it will not ignite but if I turn the thermostat on the central heating it fires up correctly.

Most recently it has began making a hissing or wining type noise, which comes and goes as the boiler is on. Also there is water escaping from out of the overflow pipe outside.

Does somebody have an idea on what’s wrong with it and how much it will cost. Also I’ve had the boiler for over 6 years and do you think I need to replace the unit with a new one. It still looks quite modern though but looks can be deceiving.

:D :)

First thing is to replace the pressure release valve and maintain pressure, then see what problems if any remain.
