greatful if anyone can advise me.

The power shower in the bathroom works for a while and then cuts out. If you leave it for a while and try using it again it works. It has been doing this on and off since the middle of December. I have tried turing the thermostat in the bolier up and down to see if it was the case that the water wasn't warm enough and have ensured that the water heater is on at least an hour before use but yet again the power keeps switching off. The shower is only 8 months old.

Any advice would be greatfully received.

    Thanks

    Neil

I take it it's an electric power shower ? looks like a electric shower not a chrome mixer valve.

Well we need to pull the cord beside the shower before it will work so I take it is an electric power shower. Really hopeless at DIY so glad I found this site. The make is galaxy will need to check model. Thanks

    Trying to remember ....

As far as im aware the light at the pull cord stays on but the light on the shower ( 7 levels for flow) go's off and the water flow stops. When I try to switch the shower on again there is just a clicking noise but no action. Always keep the flow on level 7 as this is the most powerful. If you wait another while it works. This morning it stopped working while the wife was showering, but started working again after 2 minutes or so. When I tried to use it it stopped after 5 seconds or so. Left it 30 minutes and then it worked for the 5 minutes or so I was in the shower. Seems to be doing this every morning.

    Thanks

    Neil

Double check the model when you get home and let us know ?
You say the shower is only 8 months old so will still be covered by galaxy warranty. ;)

Sounds like the solenoid valve has gone faulty.
Can be checked with a multi meter.

Seco thanks for your help. Is this easily sorted and not too costly? Would I need a plumber or a electrician?

    Thanks

Providing you have multi meter then you can do it yourself.
Part costs about £12 and takes 2 mins to change.
