Hi all,

Looking to change my boiler because it has failed! But with it being so close to xmas I'm looking for a quick resolution!

My boiler failed yesterday, it wouldn't ignite. I can hear the fan starting, the pressure switch clicking and then everything stops and repeats 2 seconds later!

I have had a boiler engineer have a look and he doesn't know what it could be. He manually kept the switch open fully at one point and the boiler sounded fine except the pilot light wouldn't ignite and fire the boiler!

Can anyone suggest anything as a temporary fix so I can organise a purchase of a new one for just after xmas?

Any help appreciated!

Paul Morris

No - multiple faults - can only think of pcb at the mo!

Is it sparking at the pilot light?

If not then the spark electrode, cable or generator is faulty.

If its sparking but not igniting then the gas supply to the pilot is failed, dirty pilot jet, gas valve or pcb.

I am disappointed if the "someone" who came is CORGI registered and offering boiler repair services and he was unable to identify the fault on such a simple boiler.

Maybe you need Rama to have a look?
