Hello,

We recently had new laminate flooring put in our flat (about 2 months back). It seems the job was not done properly, now the laminate boards have gone wobbly...meaning they are trying to pop out at some places. Someone suggested that I try to pin them down by headless nails, but If I nail them down at one place then after a couple of days they start to come out at some other location. I donno what to do now..can someone please give some usefull advice..???

the original floor underneath the laminate is wood and they layed some type of soft boards (something like cardboards) onto it before fitting the laminate boards.

Thanks all in advance

do not under any circumstances pin or restrain or even touch your floor

get the the origional installer back to fix it assuming the floor hasnt had a spill on it or been moped /cleanen with other than a barely damp cloth/mop that would leave the surface immediatly dry

as soon as you touch the floor to fix it they can start to blame you iff they are in the least disreputable
and if you nail it they will just laugh as they leave the house for the last time

Thanks mate...will surely do that..!!!

Hi Sidd,
Laminate flooring is installed as a floating floor, so it should never be pinned down. Did the installer leave a 10mm expansion gap around the perimeter of the room? As 'big-all' says, get the fitter back to sort it out
