Problems with teak oil on outside furniture

Last spring I applied a couple of coats of Furniture Clinic teak oil to various items of garden furniture. I was very careful to completely cover all the surfaces. Within a couple of weeks blotches appeared on the furniture (see the attached photographs). What is happening, how can I resolved the problem and how can I ensure that it doesn't reoccur?

Let it weather down or sand well and apply to bare wood

Even on bare wood, sometimes you can get a dodgy can of oil.
Happened to me a couple of times.
