Hi can any one help with profile 80 which seems to receive click from pcb and fan starts then the process repeats over and over again.

I am an electrician and have checked for voltage on gas valve during fan / clicking 0volts. when i hit the gas valve louder click 240v on solenoid and fire up for about 1 hour then i have to wack the valve again.

Sounds like gas valve or pcb both v v expensive any help to narrow it to either would be great

Thanks

Andy

If you are only tapping the gas valve I would suspect this.

Try tapping any relays on the pcb, if this makes it come on then suspect pcb first.

Thanks

Just checked again. I think just chance that by hitting gas valve with end of golf umbrella not helping but there is 0 volts on solenoid during all of this untill 240 applied .

How about if i apply 240v from other source during fan and click cycle and see if boiler fires.

Cant see any relays as pcb is enclosed within plastic shell.

If the fan starts up for a couple of seconds then drops out and keeps this cycle going a few times before it ignites it's the pcb, probably do 3 or 4 a week for it.

Several Potterton models are overly sensitive to poor earth.
Would I be correct to guess that earth to your boiler leaves room for improvement? Ditto for supplementary bonding? Cobbler’s kids and such…..
:D
