Prop needed?

Hi guys, looking to create a small opening in an interior single skin wall (500mm wide, 600mm deep) to create a fake fireplace.

Planning to install a concrete lintel (750mm).

Do I need to prop the wall? I expect it's a supporting wall but all upstairs walls are studs so theres not direct masonry pressure on it.
